Banksy’s prints featuring Kate Moss directly respond to the influence of Pop Art icon Andy Warhol. Initially released in 2003, the prints emerged in a limited light blue edition of 50. Subsequently, Banksy introduced another series comprising 120 prints in six additional colors—pink, hot pink, purple, green, apricot/gold, and blue/grey—with 20 variations of each hue. Additionally, Banksy crafted a highly limited series of 12 artist’s proofs and five canvas reproductions, all bearing the artist’s signature. Each piece is authenticated by Banksy's signature. In a noteworthy anecdote, it was reported that Banksy created a unique edition specifically for Kate Moss as a wedding present in 2011. Rumor has it that upon discovering the artwork in her hotel bathroom during her honeymoon, Moss was pleasantly surprised. The artwork features a fusion of Moss's and Marilyn Monroe’s faces, overlaying Monroe’s iconic hairstyle onto a grayscale portrait of Moss. This artistic amalgamation, akin to many of Banksy's creations, serves as both an homage to fame and a sardonic commentary on the spectacle it embodies.
