About the Series

The Dancers works capture the human body in motion — but motion arrested, fixed at a moment of extension, balance, or transition that reveals the body's graphic potential. Katz's flat planes of colour and precise outlines are especially effective with the dancer's form, where the body itself becomes a line drawing executed in flesh and fabric.
