Invader's Alert System series draws directly from the visual vocabulary of public warning infrastructure — emergency broadcast icons, alert symbols, and civic signage — transposing these functional graphic forms into the pixel-mosaic aesthetic of his signature tile work. The series investigates how images acquire authority and urgency through their formal resemblance to systems of public communication, and what happens when those visual codes are detached from their original institutional contexts.

Working in his signature medium of ceramic mosaic tiles, Invader assembles each Alert System work as both a street installation and a collectible limited edition. The bright, pixelated imagery references the early video game aesthetics that define his practice — the blocky, low-resolution quality of 1980s screen graphics — while introducing a new thematic register of emergency, surveillance, and public space. The series is among his most conceptually direct, the graphic tension between warning and play, between civic responsibility and artistic appropriation, operating at the surface of each image.
