IDENTITY: A Solo Exhibition by Sage Barnes
The TAX Collection + Guy Hepner present, IDENTITY, a solo gallery exhibition by Sage Barnes. Opening October 12th, IDENTITY explores the human condition as we navigate through our own personal narratives and the world that’s continuously moving around us.
A self-taught artist, Sage Barnes has only learned to create from his own ideas, which is exactly what sets him apart. He has found a unique combination of abstract, realistic, and street art techniques, which are often kept separate.
Many of his works feature a very realistic bodice, with an explosion of colors in place of ahead, painted against a graffiti-like wall. His Instagram bio reads “college dropout,” potentially as a way to share with people that there is no clear cut path to success.
Guy Hepner first collaborated with The Tax Collection in 2016, with a successful group exhibition Ephemeral. The TAX Collection is a multi modal creative collective aimed at revolutionizing the way popular culture interacts within producer-consumer, artist-audience, and creator-user relationships.
IDENTITY will be on view at Guy Hepner NYC from October 12th, with unique artworks for sale. Guy Hepner is open to the public Monday– Friday 10am-5pm, and via appointment at all other times. Please join us for the opening reception on October 12th.
