Nirvana by Herr Nilsson
He is best known for editing the graphic identity of lovable Disney princesses and characters, who can be spotted around the city waiting to pounce on unsuspecting pedestrians with an array of weaponry. His new series Nirvana, portrays the Dalai Lama holding a cigarette and a Coca Cola can. The deftness of his paintings reveal his talent while the power of his imagery suggests a moralizing subtext.
Herr Nilsson received international media attention during 2011 – 2012 and was catapulted into the mainstream media after adorning the streets of Stockholm with his sarcastic wheat pasting and graffiti “Dark Princess” installation series in 2013. The series was met with a flurry of press coverage asking the simple question, “Who is this guy?” Coverage in the Huffington Post, The Daily Mail and other media led to additional speculation as to his identity. Some of his works will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Italian Vogue.
