Mr. Brainwash Now Available

Guy Hepner is please to offer unique works by French born artist Thierry Guetta, aka Mr. Brainwash. Born in 1966, Mr. Brainwash was first introduced to street art by his cousin, the artist  Space Invader. The controversial artist is well known for appropriating copyrighted images from history, popular culture and art history.

Mr. Brainwash brings his graffiti style to produce unique canvas works that are both visually fruitful and challenge the ideals of contemporary art. The artist is no stranger to appropriating famous figures in his works, with numerous piece showcasing icons of the past and present.

David Bowie created in 2014, is based on Bowie’s “Aladdin Sane” album cover. Measuring 84 x 36 inches, the canvas is one of many images the artist created all differing in color, background and colleague techniques.

Einstein, 2016, implies used the artist iconic style of juxtaposing cultural icons of the past with icons of today. The work portrays a stencil like Albert Einstein standing in fronts of a graffiti covered wall. The vibrant contrast of the figure and the background of the works is illustrative of Mr. Brainwash’s style.

Also available is an unique piece titled, I Love You!. Created using spray paint and stickers placed on plywood, this piece exemplifies the artist interest in mixed media arrangements. The composition of multiple overlaying fragile stickers are contrasted with bold black text, eluding to the fragility of human emotions.
