Despite the state of the economy, Andy Warhol, Guy Hepner represented artist, finds his revolutionary body of work continuing to rise in value. Christie’s and Sotheby’s in London recorded steadily rising prices for the artist in the last two weeks.
Christie’s in London auctioned Warhol’s Self-Portrait, acrylic silkscreen ink on canvas, last week and the bidding soared until settling on $17,441,892, over double the estimated price.

In another sale, Christie’s auctioned Warhol’s Oxidation, copper metallic pigment and urine on canvas, a work from later in the artist’s career, climbed to an amazing $127,434, again, approximately twice the estimated price.
Andy Warhol’s Robot, silkscreen ink on canvas, reached an incredible $127,434.

These few works, part of larger sales are a microcosm of the greater picture: Andy Warhol’s works continue to push the limits of the art market, and redefine and expand the artist's worth.
