Russell Young- Works on Paper
Mar 24th, 2009
Russell Young, one of the hottest emerging pop artists of the last few years has newly released works on paper, available through Guy Hepner. The images depict legendary icons such as James Dean, Jim Morrison, Marlon Brando, and Elvis Presley. Guy Hepner is offering both images of Marlon Brando at a special pre publication $1,250 each. Once published the pieces will be $1,750 each. Young’s work has been collected by celebrities and notable collectors, with his paintings are truly compelling, daunting, and undeniable works of pop iconography
Russell Young has been painting for over 15 years, and until relatively recently, these works had remained private until 2003. His works on paper are amongst his favorites because he has the ability to print paint, enamel, blood, and ink on the paper to show intense detail, colors, and shadowing. His first showing of his paintings, PIG PORTRAITS, sold out immediately, which has given him the title as an internationally acclaimed pop artist, known for his larger than life silkscreen paintings of historical images of pop culture.
