Photography Market: Latest Aucti...

Apr 11th, 2011

On April 9th, 2011, Phillips De Pury, New York held an auction that once again showcased fantastic results for Guy Hepner artists. Photography's pertinence in the art market was made obvious this weekend with Gavin Bond, Alex Cao, and The UltraVelvet Collection continuing to shine.

Gavin Bond's Legs from Backstage Volume 1 set a world record selling price for the artist at $33,750, which is a unique piece from the 95 x 71 Museum Collection. Pieces from this collection are exclusive to Guy Hepner, and select images have become available from Tuesday, April 12th, 2011.

Alex Cao's results were also impressive. Jackie vs JFK II was sold for $15,000, which is over double the price when released by Guy Hepner.

The UltraVelvet Collection's Cash Chamelion from the Color of Money went for $8,125, which is another solid result for the emerging artists, Eric Hajjar & Meredith Rose.

An insatiable demand for Photography exists and continues to expand the contemporary art market.
