Gavin Bond Backstage is Front Page News
Apr 01th, 2009
Gavin Bond's ascent through the ranks of the fashion photography world continued apace in New York on Wednesday. Coming on the back of strong results in London in 2008, Bond's Backstage Volume II portfolio attracted multiple interest from photography collectors in New York on Wednesday. The portfolio of twelve images finally sold to an undisclosed buyer for $20,000. The portfolio was originally published by Guy Hepner for $12,500 in an edition of 10, since sold out. Bond, a graduate of London's infamous St Martin's College of Art has seen a progressive tranformation from in demand editorial and fashion photographer in the commercial world to fine art photographer, will his works now appearing side by side and realising comparable values to established icons such as Helmut Newton, David LaChapelle and Annie Leibovitz.
Gavin Bond works are published by Guy Hepner, Los Angeles
