DESCRIPTION
W Los Angeles - Westwood in conjunction with Guy Hepner and Angeleno magazine, announces the latest W Hotel White Space photography exhibition Dreamscapes, by world-renowned and veteran Angeleno magazine photographer David Drebin. The partnership also includes a 16 – page fashion spread in Angeleno magazine’s September fall fashion issue photographed by Drebin on location at the W Los Angeles and an event co-hosted by Angeleno magazine’s September cover Rosario Dawson to celebrate the issue release with the launch of Drebin’s Dreamscapes exhibition. Drebin’s Dreamscapes, a photographic installation, consists of epic, cinematic landscapes exhibited in the public spaces of the W Los Angeles and it’s chic Living Room and critically acclaimed Restaurant, NINETHIRTY.
The W Hotel’s dedication to staging fashionable and culturally intriguing events make it the quintessential platform for showcasing Drebin’s, Dreamscapes along with Angeleno magazine. This exhibit, produced and curated by British born, LA-based art dealer, Guy Hepner will feature 3 lightboxes and 9 large prints. The prints will range from cinematic panoramics of Los Angeles and New York to crashing waves in Capetown and an early morning in Rio de Janeiro amongst many other glowing cityscapes from around the world. This latest exhibition to open at the W Los Angeles is part of an initiative, known as The White Space, which transforms the Hotels’ lobbies and public spaces into open art galleries.
W Los Angeles, Guy Hepner, and Angeleno Magazine are excited to present the twelve week exhibition to an audience of W guests, tastemakers, industry leaders and celebrities. Hepner describes the photographs as stories within stories as an “homage to the widescreen movie theaters in which motion picture story telling is illustrated and the viewer is invited to write their own story as to what is happening in any given location.”
In honor of the Angeleno magazine’s September fall fashion issue and the launch of the Drebin exhibition, Angeleno magazine’s September cover Rosario Dawson will co-host the opening event presented by Guy Hepner and David Drebin on September 9th in NINETHIRTY with a cocktail reception and passed horsd’ oeurves prepared by NINETHIRTY’s Executive Chef Monique King. Additionally, to recognize the White Space program, the W Los Angeles will offer a room package including David Drebin’s photography book “Love and Other Stories”, a one-year Angeleno magazine subscription, two “Angelini” cocktails in NINETHIRTY and a W suite available online at www.whotels.com/losangeles.
W Los Angeles and Guy Hepner share the same vision of bringing culturally intriguing and fresh ideas together. This White Space exhibit celebrates Drebin’s work and the wonderful synthesis of the cinematic experience in his photography where the viewer decides how the story ends—hidden pictures within pictures. All pieces in the exhibition are available in strictly limited editions directly through Guy Hepner's Los Angeles gallery, or at www.guyhepner.com available from $2,500.
