MEDICINE CABINETS

Damien Hirst's medicine cabinets are perhaps his most well known, most provoking and altogether intriguing bodies of work. The series has been evident in Hirsts work since the 1990s, a recurring theme throughout his career, dealing with questions of life, mortality and the human being growing dependency on drugs to sustain life. Hirst put forward the argument that drugs have replaced religion and the firm belief of the population, a compelling theory as the world grows older each and demographics are realigned.
